I love a good farm shop, discovering local produce, and even better getting to bring lots of it home to enjoy later. While we wait for lockdown to be lifted, I’m writing lists of all the lovely places we’re looking forward to visiting this summer.
Read on to find out about 5 of the farm shops near Berkhamsted we have on our list to visit this summer.
Rumblers Farm Shop
Probably best known for their popular pumpkin displays, Rumblers has a lovely range of products to enjoy year round. Rumblers is located in Potten End, just outside of Berkhamsted. I always think it’s a good sign when a shop stocks one of my favourite – frozen pain au chocolate and other pastries, perfect to keep in the freezer for rainy day breakfast! Peterley Manor Farm
Slightly further afield, but well worth the journey, is Peterley Manor farm. They run a number of events during the year, including pick your own sunflowers. There is also a delicious tipi cafe on site, that alone is worth the journey on a sunny day. Find out more about Peterley Manor Farm.
PE Meads
A lovely farm shop and tea room, located alongside a few other fabulous businesses. These include our favourite Puddingstone Distillery, and Tring’s Own Apple Juice shop. These guys will take your apples and pears and turn them into delicious juice! Find out more about PE Meads.
Wild Raven Farm Shop
A new one for us this year, Wild Raven has been getting some fantastic reviews for their lockdown food. They also have a cafe with a play area for children, so I’m looking forward to a coffee while my little ones play. It’s slightly further away, located just to the north of Aylesbury. Sunnyside Farm Shop
Another one we’ve not yet explored, and one we can walk to from home, so it’s definitely on the list to explore. The website says they champion local food and promote local organic and fair-trade food. We look forward to seeing what they have to offer. Find out more about Sunnyside.
